Role overview
We are seeking a customer-focused, full-time Account Manager to join our sales team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maximising book sales across a selection of our Booksellers. You will develop and manage relationships with customers, meet agreed sales budgets, and maximise sales through collaborative promotional activity.
Responsibilities
- Increase sales and maximise all opportunities
- Manage the sales process from presentation of sales materials to processing and tracking of orders
- Identify market and promotional opportunities within each account
- Connect marketing campaigns to promotional activity to drive sales
- Prepare reports, both written and verbal
- Attend author events as required
Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in sales
- Experience using feedback and data analysis to make informed and strategic decisions
- Proven ability to think and work analytically
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
In addition, you will be a book-loving opportunist and a champion of process and operational improvements with the goal of best sales outcomes. You are a self-starter and used to working independently. Previous experience in the publishing or book industry is highly desirable.
