Role overview

The GED ® International (GED-I) program is experiencing significant growth and is becoming a recognized global program offering a higher-secondary/Grade 12 level credential. This position is crucial for expanding the GED-I program into new countries and managing relationships with GED Authorized Partners (GAPs), government, and university stakeholders. The primary geographic focus will be Asia and the Middle East, with potential work in North Africa. This role will also involve collaboration with other Pearson products and services.

This role will work closely with the GED-I Business Development Manager, Program Manager, and Marketing lead to develop and execute business strategies to achieve key performance indicators and revenue targets. The team operates collaboratively, and this role will be a core contributor to its success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business strategy in collaboration with the GED-I Business Development Manager, Program Manager, and Marketing lead to achieve annual business key performance indicators and revenue targets.
  • Contribute to the growth and expansion of the GED-I program in existing and new markets.
  • Communicate the value of the GED-I program to potential and existing GAPs, universities, local government representatives, and potentially Ministry of Education and higher education government representatives.
  • Craft content and collect stories about GED learners and graduates for marketing purposes to increase program visibility and reputation.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other Pearson products and services, including Pearson Vocational Qualifications and Pearson Test of English.
  • Develop an annual business development plan with quarterly key performance indicators.
  • Monitor weekly progress dashboards.
  • Prospect, reach out to, and recruit new GAPs with assistance from the Business Development Manager.
  • Research and understand applicable education and university policies in GED-I countries.
  • Assist in preparing strategy and communications documents for use with Ministries of Education and government representatives.
  • Provide input on areas for process or operational improvement.
  • Track business development activities alongside key Pearson units for cross-selling and coordinating deals.
  • International travel is required for this role.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant work experience in the education sector, preferably in business development, program management, or strategic partnerships.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or business.
  • Knowledgeable about international education systems (e.g., higher-secondary and university systems).
  • Excellent English-language verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and fluently in one-on-one meetings and presentations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, capable of producing content for various formats from PowerPoint presentations to informal emails.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create, read, analyze, and act upon data and dashboards.
  • Experience troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions.
  • Excellent project planning and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, projects, and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong customer service experience and focus.
  • Solid work ethic with drive, passion, persistence, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
