Job Description

Role overview

BookLeaf Publishing is one of India's largest self-publishing platforms, publishing over 1,200 books monthly with a catalogue of 22,000+ titles. We have in-house printing in Delhi and global distribution through Ingram, and were featured on Shark Tank India, Season 4. We are bootstrapped, profitable, and are now building our audience in the US alongside India. This role is central to that expansion.

What you'll own

  • The calendar: You will own the monthly content plan across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest for two distinct audiences. In India, this includes first-time authors and poets, largely in their 20s and 30s. In the US, the audience is mostly female with a median age around 36. The product is the same, but the content will be very different.
  • The output: You will be responsible for 30–40 pieces of content per month. This is a hands-on role where you will create a meaningful share of the content yourself, not just brief others.
  • The creator pipeline: You will source and brief UGC creators on Collabstr, JoinBrands, and Fiverr, review their output, and ensure the cost-per-usable-video stays within budget.
  • Author storytelling: Our best content comes from our own authors, showcasing moments like launch reels, award announcements, and first-copy-in-hand experiences. You will build a repeatable process to capture and publish these stories.
  • The numbers: You will track and report monthly on follower growth, reach, saves and shares, profile-to-website clicks, and content-attributed signups. You will adjust the content plan based on these metrics.
  • The team: As we scale, you will manage 1–2 interns and freelance editors.

What we're looking for

  • 2–4 years of experience running social media for a consumer brand, D2C company, publisher, or agency.
  • A portfolio with quantifiable results. Please detail the state of an account when you took over and its performance upon your departure.
  • The ability to edit video content, not just brief it. Proficiency with CapCut, Premiere, or Final Cut is required.
  • Sharp writing skills in English. Hindi is a plus.
  • Comfort being on camera, or the ability to make others comfortable on camera.
  • Bonus: Experience with a US or international audience, or within the books/creator-economy space.

Logistics

  • This is an on-site role at our Jhandewalan office, with working hours from 10 AM to 6 PM.
  • You will report directly to the founding team and will have significant ownership from your first month.

Application Information

  • Please send your portfolio or 3–5 of your best campaigns, including the results for each.
  • Apply on LinkedIn and email us at [[email protected]] with the subject line "Social Media Executive — [Your Name]".
