Role overview
BookLeaf Publishing is one of India's largest self-publishing platforms, helping thousands of writers turn their manuscripts into published books. We publish 1,200+ books every month, have a catalogue of 22,000+ titles, and were featured on Shark Tank India, Season 4. We're now looking for someone who understands creators, spends perhaps a little too much time on Instagram, and can turn that understanding into meaningful creator partnerships.
This is not a role where you simply make influencer lists. You'll be expected to find the right creators, reach out to them, build relationships, negotiate collaborations, coordinate campaigns, and understand what actually worked.
What You'll Own
Creator Discovery
- Find relevant creators across Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms. This could include:
- Bookstagrammers
- Writers and poets
- Literature and reading creators
- Lifestyle creators
- UGC creators
- College/student creators
- Micro and nano influencers
- Creators in adjacent communities where aspiring writers spend their time
- We're much more interested in audience fit and content quality than follower count alone.
Creator Outreach
- You'll reach out to creators through email, Instagram, WhatsApp, and creator platforms. You'll be responsible for:
- Personalizing outreach
- Following up consistently
- Getting creators interested in working with BookLeaf
- Understanding their commercials
- Negotiating deliverables and pricing
- Moving conversations from "interested" to an actual collaboration
- Getting replies is part of the job.
Campaign Execution
- Once a creator is onboarded, you'll help manage the collaboration end-to-end:
- Create or communicate campaign briefs
- Coordinate deliverables
- Manage timelines
- Follow up for drafts
- Coordinate approvals
- Track posting
- Collect performance data
- Maintain campaign records
- You should be someone who notices when a deliverable was due yesterday without needing someone else to remind you.
Performance & Tracking
- Influencer marketing at BookLeaf should eventually contribute to business results, not just screenshots of views.
- You'll maintain creator and campaign trackers covering things like:
- Creators contacted
- Response rates
- Creators onboarded
- Campaign cost
- Content published
- Views and engagement
- Clicks/leads
- Sign-ups or sales where measurable
- Cost per result
- You'll help us understand which creators we should work with again — and which ones looked good on paper but didn't deliver.
Creator Relationships
- The best creator partnerships aren't transactional.
- You'll build a network of creators who genuinely like BookLeaf and can work with us repeatedly through:
- Paid collaborations
- Affiliate partnerships
- UGC
- Giveaways
- Book campaigns
- Author campaigns
- Long-term brand partnerships
Who We're Looking For
- We're open to candidates with 0–2 years of experience.
- You don't necessarily need previous influencer-marketing experience if you can demonstrate excellent creator research, communication, and execution skills.
- You should:
- Understand Instagram and creator culture
- Be naturally good at finding creators
- Know the difference between followers and actual influence
- Write good DMs and emails
- Be comfortable following up repeatedly
- Have strong communication and negotiation skills
- Be organized with Google Sheets/Excel
- Be comfortable working with targets
- Be able to handle multiple creator conversations simultaneously
- Have good judgment about whether content feels authentic or forced
- Be curious about what's trending online
We'd Especially Like You If
- You already follow creators across different niches
- You've worked with influencers, creators, agencies, or brands before
- You understand Bookstagram/BookTok
- You've handled affiliate or performance-based campaigns
- You know how to assess engagement beyond follower count
- You've negotiated creator commercials before
- You have existing creator relationships
This Role May Not Be For You If
- You're looking for a role where someone gives you a list of influencers and you simply send them a template. A large part of this job involves figuring things out yourself: Who should we work with? Why them? How should we approach them? What should we offer? And did the collaboration actually work?
Application Information
- Application → Short Assignment → Interview → Final Discussion
- The assignment is intentionally short. We don't want free work or a 20-slide strategy deck. We simply want to see how you think when you're given a real creator-marketing problem.
