Role overview
Reporting to the Manager, Intercompany Accounting, the Intercompany – Accounts Executive will support intercompany accounting close activities, reconciliations, and issue resolution across global entities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of intercompany accounting processes within the Global Financial Shared Services (GFSS) team.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and intercompany counterparts to investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong controls in line with Wiley’s global accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform intercompany accounting activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and netting processes
- Prepare, review, and upload intercompany journal entries in line with accounting standards and global policies
- Investigate and resolve intercompany differences, including aged and disputed items
- Coordinate with global counterparts to clear reconciling items and ensure timely resolution
- Obtain required approvals for debit/credit notes to offset variances
- Review intercompany reconciliations and escalate unresolved issues as per escalation matrix
- Support preparation of intercompany reports, KPIs, and audit requirements
- Contribute to process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across regions
- Support transition of new intercompany activities into the Accounting Shared Services Center (ASC) and assist with documentation and stabilization
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Accounting certification is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shared service or general accounting roles
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and processes
- Prior exposure to intercompany accounting activities is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables; macros a plus)
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP experience preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across global time zones
