Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable & Accounting Systems, the Senior Accounts Receivable Executive will be responsible for end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Cash Application activities. The role involves accurate and timely posting of customer payments, resolving complex customer queries, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end close while ensuring compliance with internal controls. This position works closely with Collections and other finance stakeholders to ensure smooth AR operations and high-quality reporting.
Responsibilities
- Process cash and credit card payments, refunds, and special customer allocations accurately and on time
- Perform daily, weekly, and month-end reconciliations including credit card, special customer, and collection reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve complex customer payment queries through detailed analysis
- Prepare journal entries for month-end reporting, including credit card reconciliations and AR trade receipts
- Deliver timely and accurate cash application and AR reports to support business decision-making
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and support audits
- Meet defined KPIs and SLAs with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Support documentation of processes and train new hires on cash applications and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree in commerce or MBA preferred
- 4+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or shared services accounting
- Strong understanding of cash application processes, reconciliations, and accounting transactions
- Hands-on experience with SAP (mandatory)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills include formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and AR processes
- Ability to manage high-volume transactions with high accuracy
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency and accountability
- Flexible to work in shifts and support stakeholders across different time zones
